Just keep going and don’t give up! Best advice I’ve gotten yet :)

no frustration. just keep it up. have you been drinking more water lately, like you should be doing? if so, then your body’s been storing more water, which would result in no weight loss, and maybe even a little gain. don’t sweat it. just keep it up, and keep up a net caloric deficit. i don’t want to beat you up too much, but those few too many drinks most likely got converted to fat. that’s why alcohol is to be enjoyed in moderation, and hard liquor is a big no-no. the rumor that alcohol is a sugar and thus a carb is technically true, but your body doesn’t treat it that way.

but that is no big deal; what’s life if you can’t enjoy it once in a while? be in this for the long haul; it’s been 6 days. you have the rest of your life to get this right, don’t be in a rush. rushing leads to injuries and demotivation, and those are the things that you want to avoid.

drinking can be fun, but i recommend you keep it to the few days immediately after you do a major race. so basically, once every 6 months or so. having a drink or two per week is ok, but hard drinking should be kept to a minimum.

One thing to consider is that it takes time for our bodies to adapt to these new things. And, so, too, our brains.

What I mean by that is if you’ve really made the changes to the inputs, your body is going to show the changes over time (6 weeks, 12 weeks, 18 weeks, etc). Could be that they aren’t in the ways you’re expecting, though.

Back when I started on my dive into Functional Fitness and the Zone diet, it took a while to see the changes by my body weight. But, by the tape-measure around the waste, an entirely different story emerged, one of a body changing shape.

My suggestion is to stay on track, and cut out the sugar, sugar substitutes, white bread, white rice, alcohol, etc. The BIGGEST impact item for my fat loss was in cutting out these items entirely from my diet, and eating a Zone-based diet (40-30-30).
